HHH Hosts Commissioner George Dunalp

The Urban Ministry Center has a new district County Commissioner. AND, for the first time in HHH history, a district representative took us up on our invitation to attend a HHH meeting.

Commissioner Dunlap first encountered the issue of homelessness during his years as a police officer. As he begin to know those on the streets, some of his stereotypes began to change. He shared with us on a more personal level, that he had learned about homelessness on a more personal level when his close relative became homeless.

Together, we discussed the challenges of securing employment with a criminal background and the need to create more affordable housing in our community.

We are looking forward to working with Commissioner Dunlap in the coming years.
